The Klotho Architecture

A method for building skincare around a longevity protein that cannot be put in a bottle.

The protein everyone wants and nobody can use

Klotho was identified in 1997. In published research, mice bred without it showed signs of accelerated aging, and mice with extra Klotho lived measurably longer. Human Klotho levels decline with age.

It is one of the most compelling proteins in aging science, and it has almost no presence in prestige skincare. Not because the science is unclear. Because the molecule does not cooperate. At roughly 130 kilodaltons, it is far too large to cross intact skin. As a folded protein in a water-based formula, it would not survive a shelf life.

Two approaches, both incomplete

Ignore it. Build on collagen, hydration and vitamins. Safe, proven, and indistinguishable from every other serum on the shelf.

Sell the mixture. Put a cultured broth in a bottle and attribute the whole effect to one protein inside it. Nobody can say which component did what, or how much of the named one is present.

The third approach

We treat Klotho as a set of functions rather than a molecule to reproduce. The Klotho Peptide Serum starts with Clodessine™ (sh-Nonapeptide-4), a synthetic nine-amino-acid fragment of human α-Klotho. Klotho itself is a 1,012-amino-acid protein, and it is not in any of our products. Then we fill each remaining function deliberately, with a defined molecule chosen for that job and nothing else.

We are not reconstructing the protein. We are reproducing its functions, one at a time, with molecules we can name and measure.

The map

Six functions. Six modules. Each one a defined molecule, each answering a function the others do not.

  • Anchor: the Klotho-derived core of the system. Clodessine™, a nine-amino-acid fragment of human α-Klotho.

  • Calm: the look of stressed, reactive skin. Two defined peptides with different endpoints.

  • Longevity: the look of tired, aging skin. A defined tripeptide.

  • Matrix: visible loss of firmness. A defined tetrapeptide.

  • Structure: the skin's support layer, for a firmer look. A defined lipopeptide with human clinical data.

  • Renewal: the look of fresh, renewed skin. A biomimetic tripeptide with ex vivo human skin data.

Every component is identified, quantified and printed on the label. Nothing is in the bottle because it was interesting.

What we refused, and why

A formula can be copied from an ingredient list. A method cannot, because most of its value sits in the decisions that left things out.

  • A well-known adhesion peptide, removed because published data shows it works against the firmness the formula is built for.

  • A popular collagen-support ingredient, removed because its pathway runs opposite to the anchor's. Two ingredients pulling in opposite directions is not a formula, it is an argument.

  • A senescence-adjacent peptide, removed over a risk of unwanted facial hair.

  • A copper peptide system, moved to its own bottle because the chemistry interferes, not because the molecule is weak.

  • Growth factors, moved out of the serum entirely, because proteins do not survive in a water-based formula and saying otherwise would be dishonest.

  • The broadest-claiming junction peptide on the market, declined because it duplicates a function already covered. More overlap is not more product.

Three systems, one method

The architecture separates what the chemistry requires to be separate. That separation is the honest part of the story, not a compromise.

The Klotho Complex. The defined-peptide serum. All six functions covered, shelf stable, every component named.

Growth Factor Matrix™. Protein actives kept out of the water-based formula and delivered separately, because protein stability requires it.

Copper Booster (GHK-Cu). The copper peptide system packaged on its own, so it doesn't compete with the chemistry around it.

The price

The price is not for the bottle. It is for knowing what is in it and why.
